Seaworthy

I think all of my water/boat paintings are my way of telling myself that I need to go to the ocean immediately. ASAP. Stat. NOW.
I just know that I will suddenly be bombarded with offers from all of my friends & family to take care of my kids while I am gone. Hello? Anyone? Anyone at all......don't be afraid to speak up. Why do I hear crickets?

"Seaworthy" is 36 x 48, and available at Gregg Irby Fine Art.

This put some wind in my sails.......

Cool Sailings, pictured here, sold this week, thanks to the gang at Gregg Irby Fine Art.

Makes a girl want to shop. After all, as the quote goes from Steel Magnolias, "The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize". I may have paraphrased that a bit. So many cute fall outfits in the stores, so many shoes....so many. Alas, all of my money goes to the fine state of Alabama to support our student there. I am sure he uses it for study materials and healthy food. It helps to live in my imaginary world. Anyone is welcome.

Morning in My Dreams

Would love to be in Europe right now. I want to sit and have coffee and watch a little village wake up. Smell and see and hear the day start. Of course there would be some decadent pastry on the table too, however I didn't want to tempt myself by painting that in. My reality however is hearing "Mom, what's for breakfast" and "Honey, where are my car keys" and hearing our dog bark at the neighbors. That is the wonder of art-it transports you to other places and times. Think I will now paint myself a palm tree to go sit under.

AHHHHH.......

Time for a vacation. The heat has boiled me and I am so wanting
an ocean breeze. I love the water when it turns that clear turquoise, like the Caribbean. South Florida or the keys. I remember staying at the Boca Raton Resort. Once you sat on the beach someone would put a little flag pole beside your beach chair and when you wanted another drink you just ran your flag up. Gosh, that was a wonderful idea.

This painting is 24 x 36, and is available at my etsy store or by

Board Meeting

One of my favorite things this time of year is to drive by the school bus stops in our neighborhood. The best part is that my own kids are in school but I love seeing the changes in the children from last spring. The gawky, adolescent kids that turn into swans and studs over the summer are the most fun to see. The boy down the street must have grown 4 inches, got contacts, and learned to stand up straight. The formerly pudgy girl at the next stop now has long, straight hair, lost her braces and was pretending not to notice the boy on our street. Of course they don't say a word to each other. Yet.

These surfers remind me of all of that. They think they are cool but scared of their own shadows and especially terrified of the bikini clad group of girls watching them. One tripped while he was walking in front of them. I bet though, by the end of the summer, they are takin' names and numbers and walking tall.

This painting is titled "Board Meeting" and is 22 x 28. It is available at www.jennyschultz.com

Home again.....

Some people are never meant to stay where they grew up.

I am one of those people.
I wish this was my childhood home. A friend brought me this photo from Maine as she knows I have a thing about white houses. This painting is listed on Etsy.
